A Thought for the Week

Since the Tidedancers name was inspired by a wonderful song by Garth Brooks, we thought we would make a feature of our store the passing along of thoughts that we have treasured over the years. We put out a new “Thought for the Week” almost every week and print up copies for folks to take along. Some of our favorites over the years include:
  • Peter’s dad’s admonition to him as a young man, “Son, if you want to be lazy, you had better be smart

  • The two most common elements in the universe are hydrogen and stupidity.

  • You are never too old to embarrass your children.

  • Enjoy life. This is not a rehearsal.

  • Life is always lived according to Plan B.

  • There is a reason why your rear view mirror is much smaller than your windshield.

  • Anyone who thinks you have to be big and strong to be powerful has never spent the night in a dark room with a mosquito.

  • What would you attempt if you knew you could not fail? Why aren’t you doing it? and,

  • Why is the expression, “It is none of my business” always followed by the word “But…”?

Our current thought comes from Peter’s late mom who on hearing Pavarotti on the car radio at age 96 said simply “The music is running down my face.”
